Research Center for the Early Reception of Biblical Texts

The Research Center for the Early Reception of Biblical Texts is dedicated to the study of the interpretation of biblical texts, beginning in the Hellenistic period and continuing through two formative periods: that of rabbinic Judaism and that of the early centuries of the Christian Church. Particular attention is paid to the interpretation of biblical texts within their earliest language versions, especially the Septuagint, the Targums, and the Vulgate.
